Reaching out - weird things happening

Hi

Obviously, Knack are working on things in the background and as usual some things get broken but I’m wondering if anyone else is experiencing other weird things happening to their apps.

Apart from our current unresolved issues, yesterday we also found a grid had lost its initial filter, 2 pages had lost a key field (Active/Inactive), and a Task suddenly no longer populated the e-mail with a field and wasn’t applying the conditions.

Hi @Dean2 - Thanks for sharing this. While I have not heard of others reporting this, it’s still important to understand what’s happening to your app… Can you send me a private message with a link to your app (Builder area), maybe a video-recording / Loom of what you’re talking about, and the specific Pages/View + Task that were affected? That will help us dig into it.

The only things I can think of are below:

  1. For Grid default-filter, I wonder if you made changes to a field and it caused the filter to be invalid?
  2. For the column being removed from a Grid-view, I doubt it, but I wonder if a Shared Builder made a change that wasnt expected?
  3. For Tasks email-field, maybe there was a setting change in the actual field that is used in the task?
  4. For Tasks conditions, I dont have any good ideas on this one other than the same Shared Builder theory in #2

Hi John

Thank you for reaching out.

Danijela in Support has our details while we work on our larger problem/s.

I haven’t made any changes to the filter to cause it to disappear from the grid or the 2 pages.

The only Share Builders with access are Stephen Chapman and Norm at KTL and neither of them are working on this area at the moment.

The issues with the Tasks have settled down as suggested by Support that they were probably related to changes that Knack was making and I can quickly add the field back in.

The concerning and distracting thing is that these all seemingly minor unrelated events are happening while I’m still locked out from creating any new data tables, and a key data table with connections to nearly 20 other tables appears to have lost its connections to all the other tables.

@JohnKaras @Dean2, for extra context (because I am a shared builder):

Adding a new table from scratch results in this error message. Something tells me that the app has been corrupted.

I also recorded a video showing the issue with the Location (field_10) field not displaying a value, which is because the field key is being shared by two different fields, due to the field keys appearing to reset.
