I am working on the design of a new app that requires the inclusion of a flowchart as a piece of the final product. I’d like to package the entire product together so that the customer doesn’t have to find a resource to create the flowchart, but rather launches one that I have paid for use of. (Not sure of the solution for that part yet…)

Ideally, my customer would enter data into the Knack app and then click to launch the “other” product to where the flowchart would be created. Once complete, it could be uploaded as a file attachment to the Knack app.

Has anyone done something similar with any type of product? If so, do you have any suggestions for how to proceed with it?

An extra 10 points if you have a great suggestion for an online flowcharting product that is affordable and easy to use. If it could auto-chart the data stored in Knack, it would be even better!

Hi,

You could do the following:

  1. Search on GitHub for a flowchart library that’s written in JavaScript. I did a Google search for flowchart library github and this one and this one seem good, for example.
  2. Load the flowchart library inside Knack’s custom JavaScript.
  3. Provide a user interface in Knack (e.g. buttons, forms) to interact with the flowchart and save it to the database.
