NextGen - ".. is logged in user"

Hey everyone! I am just wondering if anyone knows if the ability to filter based on the logged in account has been removed? I can see it in the Classic Builder, but it doesn’t appear in the Next Gen. I can’t see any differences between the fields/tables either.

Thank you!

Hi @AnthonyF96, I just checked on my end toggling between Classic and Next-Gen and the source filter is still available for ‘the logged in Account’ (see Next-Gen image below).

If you’d like to DM me your app’s application ID (not API key) as well as the view key for the view you’re editing source filters for, I can do a quick analysis using my Knack Finder tool to see if there’s anything out of the ordinary.

Thank you, Stephen. I managed to figure out the problem.

I’m trying to keep staff records separate from their user account during the upgrade I am doing. Which means the ‘All Users’ table isn’t the one linked to the table I am attempting to filter. So according to KNACK AI, because I am not using the ‘All Users’ table, I am unable to filter via the logged in account, so I need to figure out an alternative workaround.

Ah yes that makes sense.

What a few of us Knack experts recommend is that you keep all connections linked to the parent ‘All users’ table rather than the user roles. This prevents issues like this and more occurring.

@Callum.Boase has a great video here on why this is beneficial if you’d like to give it a watch.
