Hey Friends!
Has anyone had luck with creating a truly integrated E-sig solution? By that I mean being able to have a user sign a legally binding document within the app, not via a email link that gets sent out separately.
For context, we have about 900 users annually that need to sign a legally binding release of liability. I want them to be able to sign the document, and then continue the e-com checkout experience. Ideally I would then have a repository of signed documents per year.
Right now we are exploring potentially creating a custom solution via SignNow or a similar system, but I wanted to see if anyone else has achieved this and if so how. If there is a decent solution out there, I would be interested in paying to use it.
While cost is a factor, I need the functionality so its moreso about finding the right cost/benefit solution.
Thanks!
Hi!
Yes, I’ve been able to achieve this with custom code and the DocuSeal API.
A signable document is embedded in Knack on a page. The user signs it without leaving the app. Then upon completion, the user continues to another page.
Any interest in sharing or selling the code? This sounds like exactly what I need!

It’s easy enough to integrate a signature capture form into Knack as per below but exactly how “legally binding” it is I couldn’t really comment, plus that might vary from country to country or even state to state.
We have been using it as a “sign on glass” solution for product deliveries for a few years. In your case there might be more legal validity recognising the user would need to be logged in to access the signature page so you have the login as extra proof of identity. Happy to explain how this is done if interested.
Hey Leigh!
Thanks for the idea! This is what we do right now, and we need something more “cohesive”. IE we get a finished PDF per signature. @knack-pro’s solution is perfect for what we are looking for!
