I’m creating a new user role of subset of parents (also a user role) applying for another kid to a program. I can use an empty form to update the parent records to include a new user role, CPP. Using record rules I can insert a connected CCP record that allows me to assign the value of Email the name as person type. The parent record also includes explicitly first name and last name. I am just unable to assign the first name and last name, Parent fields to my new CPP record. As an experiment, 1) I added another rule after the initial rule to insert email and full name as a person to insert the first name and last name and it did create a second CPP record with the first name last name. 2) When doing this as an update record, no assignments. 3) When creating a separate form after the successful creation of a CCP record with Email, I still could not update that record to assign first name and last name.
In this last attempt, I may be getting tripped up in the various combinations of the update that I’m trying to do. I’ve tried updating the CCP record 1) connected to the logged in Parent, 2) connected to the login CCP connected to the logged parent.
I do specifically not want to use the parent records as my connection for the application being developed. Hence wanting a separate user role created within the “portal” of functions accessible by Parents only.
