There has been an important industry change that may affect your email-to-SMS workflow.
Twilio, a major communications service provider, is enforcing restrictions on email-to-SMS gateway services for commercial use. This change affects all Twilio SendGrid customers, including some Knack users who currently utilize email-to-SMS gateways in their workflows, for example, using tasks or rules to communicate with an email format such as 5551234567@vtext.com. Detailed information about this change can be found here.
What This Means For You
Emails sent to SMS gateways through Twilio SendGrid will no longer be delivered
This change is part of industry-wide compliance with messaging regulations and carrier requirements
If Your Workflows Are Affected
We understand this change may impact your operations, and we’re here to help you transition smoothly.
There are various alternative communication methods available, with Twilio, and with the Knack Flows Connector with Twilio.
We appreciate your understanding as we work together to adapt to these industry changes.
Kara,
I purchased a ‘verified’ 800 number through TextMagic on a ‘pay as you go’ basis. I formerly used the Vtext.com function. The Textmagic number works basically the same as the Vtext. The most important obstacle was insuring that my TextMagic number got verified. Then I had to ensure that my email address in Knack matched my account email address in TextMagic. Then I set my default Email to SMS in TextMagic to my new ‘verified’ number. Back in Knack, my outgoing triggered emails to SMS contain my same account address in the ‘From Field’. Working well so far. Each SMS is $.05. The phone number is $10/mo. This is suitable for limited in-house notifications.
