Count records between 2 dates

How do I count the number of records that fall between two dates or over a defined period of time? For example, counting how many timesheets were submitted per employee in each month.

The count function can only count the total number of connected records.

Well, you have filters you can use in the count field.. The question is could you have a couple of date fields in the record to include as filters.. If so then that might do it..
