Still no custom domains

In May 2024, we were told by @JohnKaras and @Les that Custom Domains were going to be re-deployed by the end of 2024. It was included on a feature roadmap around the same time, but hasn’t been seen since… How about instead of “AI” features and “cool to have” features, Knack developers focus on things that are really really important in terms of functionality and even more importantly SECURITY. To follow Knack’s own “best security practices” we should be using Cookie authentication, and yet in order to do so using an embedded app, our users are forced to login via a popup (usually blocked by default on most browsers), using a non-whitelisted, Knack domain which creates a clunky and awkward user experience, totally unnecessary in now 2025… Why were we told this was coming by the end of 2024, and now were almost at the end of Q1 of 2025 and we haven’t even heard a whisper about it since?

Its not the only thing they said we would have by now. I’m also curious where this and other planned features are?

Thankyou for sharing

Hi Nicholas and fellow Knack builders - I want to acknowledge the frustration around the timeline for Custom Domains and sincerely appreciate your patience. We know this is an important feature, especially for those looking to brand and embed their Knack apps more professionally.

To be fully transparent: While we aimed to deliver Custom Domains sooner, we’ve had to balance this with other critical platform improvements, bug fixes, and new capabilities. Right now, most of our engineering effort is focused on rolling out the Next Gen Apps (NGA) experience across the Builder and LiveApp. As we complete those phases, we expect to have more engineering capacity later this year to work on Custom Domains per app—as well as 2FA for the LiveApp.

I can’t provide a firm timeline just yet, as we need to gather feedback during the NGA rollout. But the excitement and priority our customers have around Custom Domains is loud and clear to our internal team.

We truly appreciate your patience, feedback, and engagement. Please keep sharing your thoughts—we’re listening and committed to making Knack better every day.

you can make a header and footer less website (use Chatgpt to build you one if you do not code) , add an iframe tag that has your app link, buy a domain, and host it for free in Netlify.your app will have a custom domain.that is simple.add your app website in google analytic.
this is my app in iframe with custom domain : www.appnetcheckpro.com

That looks very impressive. I’ll keep this idea in mind.
