I want to add a "date of birth" field but the "date" option seems too clunky. It's difficult and time consuming to use this feature to navigate back many years. A simpler way would be to allow users to select month, date, and year in a scrolling drop down as such:
Month / Date / Year
Under month, you could choose from Jan - Dec., under day you could choose from 1 - 31, and under year, you could set a range perhaps (1900 - 2015). This would be much more user friendly for choosing dates that are several years back.
