Customizing Google Map?

I appreciate the in-app options to customizing Google maps, but is it possible to modify them further? In short, I'd love to incorporate mods such as offered here:

https://snazzymaps.com/

I've tried adding to my app's javascript, but that doesn't work.

Workarounds and suggestions welcome.

Needs wiring up to Knack data, and you'd need to modify the code for snazzymaps of course.
