Convert verbose date entry to required format

Anyone worked out a way of making the date fields accept what I call verbose format

i.e 22 Feb 2024

so that knack converts it into the required format for the field 22/02/2024 ?

We source a lot of information from a government department who saves it in dd mmm yyyy and it would be far easier to cbe able to copy and paste it from them than having to type it out again

Cheers

Hi @RayWindlow47079

The only way I know how to do that at the moment is to put it into a spreadsheet that will automatically convert it then copy it in.

The other option would be to have a short text field that you copy the date into then use JavaScript to convert the date and enter it into the date field.

If you’d like some help with the JS I’d be happy to help. You can DM me on here.

I dont import that many records anymore as our source is finitie so to speak (veterans who fought in a particular battle during WW2), but my thought is that date fields should be able to take “verbose format” and translate it to whatever stored format is without any interjection from external source code.
Thanks for the offer (apologies for late reply did see it but got caught up other things)
