Notifications for specific fields when edited

We current have a custom email notification set up to notify key people when someone changes his/her record in our database.

What we would like very much is a way for us to indicate in the notification WHICH FIELD on the record was modified.

We would like to see WHICH FIELD was edited as well. We have the email notification set up, but have no way of knowing what field was edited.

I would like to simply see the ability to send a custom email when a specific field is updated, whether on the front end (customer) or the backend (staff). This way, when payments are received, or information is obtained, we can automate emails that would send a receipt, or acknowledgement of information!
