How to Build Faster, Smarter Knack Forms in Under 5 Minutes with KTL

Hi everyone :waving_hand:

I’ve just put together a quick tutorial on a “quality of life” improvement that I was asked for recently: the ability to automatically carry over values from the previous record into the next form.

If you’ve ever had users complain about repeatedly entering the same date or status across multiple records, this is a great fix. By using Normand’s KTL (Knack Toolkit Library) and the _rlv (Reload Last Values) keyword, you can significantly reduce redundant typing and minimise entry errors.

In this quick walkthrough, I cover:

  • Adding the keyword to your form description.

  • Targeting specific fields.

  • A side-by-side look at how much faster the workflow becomes.

Note: This currently works perfectly in Knack Classic (NextGen support likely in the works from @NormandDefayette_CortexRD )
