It would be very useful for our business if there were a field like 'auto-increment' that generated a random strings of characters for each record entry. This could be used to create unique passwords for specific documents uploaded to the record with the passwords stored in a separate field of the record.

Great. This is also going to help me finally be able to categorize dates by months by extracting the first 2 characters from the date field.

Great for setting up reports.

Agree. For support queries and all sorts of databases where a unique ID is useful, it would be great if you could set a field so that it is automatically populated with a unique ID and cannot be edited by the user.
