I have a field called Category. I need to pull just the first letter from that field. I can’t figure out the syntax for the Left function. Can anyone help? I feel like it’s simple and I’m just missing something.
Thanks.

Try a Text Formula “left({Name},1)” with Name being the field name in my instance.

Thank you! I think my brain was fried and I was making it too complicated. What you suggested worked.

Thank you Carl! I knew I had seen something that explained all the formulas but I couldn’t remember where it was. I have this site bookmarked now.
