I’d like to share a reporting layer I built that runs directly inside your Knack app. It gives you detailed reports on your existing Knack data, with no separate BI tool or subscription required.

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex020/uploads/knack/original/2X/a/a51c28365f9a6c3181fc5bc59c9d993777fa5064.png)

It reads your records through the same login the rest of the app already uses, aggregates them in the browser, and renders the charts and tables. Nothing is exported and no outside service ever sees your data.

You can try the demo here: **[Reports Center demo](https://avvera.ca/demos/reports-center/index.html?skin=saas)**

The demo runs on synthetic data but it’s an accurate representation of how the reports would run on real records directly inside a Knack app. Use the industry toggle at the top to see a few different examples.

There’s also a neat “Export for AI Analysis” button that packages the report data into a zip file, downloads it to your device, and includes instructions on how to upload it to ChatGPT / Claude so you can ask detailed questions about the report findings.

I also wrote up how it works (the approach, what’s under the hood, and the AI export) here: **[Reports Center case study](https://avvera.ca/work/reports-center)**

If this is something you’re interested in, send me a direct message or email me at ivan@avvera.ca.

Please try it out and feel free to send me any feedback, questions, or ideas.

Nice job Ivan. I’ll DM you to get some more details. Looks like a great compromise between Knack’s limited high charts selection and full blown BI.

With this, is it possible to report on data from two separate Objects? This is something we’ve struggled without for the entire time with Knack. I need a report that shows data from two different Objects. Thanks!

Yes absolutely. You can combine the data from as many objects as you’d like. You could even bring in external data sources (using API) and use those in combination with your Knack data.

Hi Ivan, very nice work. Do you need JavaScript and CSS skills to do this?

Also, does it have a cross filter option between visuals like Power BI?

Michael, I’ve responded to your email. I’ll answer your two questions here as well:

Do you need JavaScript and CSS skills to do this?
A: Yes, this is implemented using Javascript and CSS

Also, does it have a cross filter option between visuals like Power BI?
A: Yes, that is possible!
