# Builder setting for time zone looks incorrect

Time zone setting in Knack builder for Eastern US/Canada is showing is GMT-5, but should be GMT-4. Anyone else have this error, or am I wrong? Thanks in advance!

Great question! Yes, GMT-5 is indeed correct for Eastern Time (US and Canada). Eastern Time (ET) is commonly referred to as GMT-5 during Standard Time, and GMT-4 during Daylight Saving Time (DST).

Just to clarify:

- **Standard Time (Winter Months):** Eastern Standard Time (EST) is GMT-5. This is the time zone used in Eastern Time (ET) from the first Sunday in November until the second Sunday in March.
- **Daylight Saving Time (Summer Months):** Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) is GMT-4. During Daylight Saving Time, which typically begins on the second Sunday in March and ends on the first Sunday in November, Eastern Time moves one hour ahead, making it GMT-4.
